A TICKET TO YOUR DESTINATION
Planning a business was never been easy. Don't know what might happen tomorrow but one thing is for sure, risking your today will be your tomorrow's worthwhile.
This past weeks, we have been discussing what should be our goal and next step to take. When this pandemic started, we suffer different kinds of problems in our daily lives, in this effect we are struggling everyday to cope up with the new normal. Many problems encountered during classes such as signal weaknesses, no internet, no money to buy gadgets, and noisy destructive environment. Considering the outcomes of my team had accumulated within the past week surveys about distinguishing the issues, we have decided to proceed our proposed solution that can help our fellow students overcome the challenges and problems of their studies.
My team goal is to test and check the effectiveness of our services offered, we asked some random target market which is the students to validate our proposed solution if they are willing to avail this phrontistery and their responds (yes) are all the same. To identify if there is a possible competitor, we asked them if there is a study hub in their place. Due to the positive results of students wanting to avail phrontistery, my team decided to have an option on first week about having an entrance fee or not, considering the social distancing because of COVID-19, my team has decided to have an entrance fee to earn profit.
In the second week, my team is looking forward for the development of our proposed project/solution, which is a study hub named phrontistery (means a place for thinking or study) to help the students by catering their needs, we asked again our prospect target market to check what services they want to avail according to their needs and we will action it the best way we can provide for them. We asked them first if they want to study with a stable internet connection, followed up the question of do they want a comfortable place to study with no distractions? If how many available gadgets do they have? Lastly, if they want to earn while studying by selling their own product to our hub? The first two questions have yes responses, on the third question, some of them does have 2 or 1 gadget. While on the last question, they all agreed on wanting to earn for it can help them pay their school fees, buy books for their studies, and most of all help their parents about their daily living needs. My team options on the second week will selling of products, offer an assistant/tutoring services, and maintenance of phrontistery. Our team decided to focus on having a stable internet than rental of gadgets because of the limited customer due to COVID-19, the location of phrontistery should be in the city but away from highway to prevent noises of surroundings. We also choose to pursue the selling of products so we can help our customer earned and might as well can benefit our study hub.
In first week discussion, my team learned that business planning is not easy especially now that we are suffering from pandemic and we are conducting it through online. Me and my team must have an all-out conduction and must investigate the target market about their wants/needs/problems, should identify on what are the possible problems that our business will encounter in the future. We also found out that this is a good project, people highly want to have a study hub in their places, considering that most of the places did not have a public study hub or a library. My team also wants our study hub to be the way for us (the Philippines) to enter the smartest countries in the world. On the second last discussion week through video call, we have learned that patience is a virtue, planning a business needs extra precautions, critical thinking, and accept or consider others opinion. Home is not a good place to learn, having a stable internet connection and right place to learned will make the students feel better.
